I guess you have not seen the Game of the Year version for 360.
PS3 version got many more months of dev time and got some serious bug fixes done and engine tweaks. All the same improvements are done for 360 as well with the game of the year edition. PS3 version is no better looking anymore.
Some like Tetris, some like Crysis. You can't go wrong if you trust your own taste and play games YOU like.
Sadly, 10 people out of 10000 who like to play this crap wont help devs to get their money back.
The Perfect game would be bought by every single gamer and that is what devs want, but that won't ever happen.
I would say 360 is safe and sure bet, you know what you eat and it is fully satisfying experience.
With PS3 though, you might think because it costs more, it has to be great and you get some exquisite aromas for your taste buds, but in the end it just turned out to be horribly wrong prepared plate of fugu, you eat it, turn blue and DIE.
I would not say avoid Assassin's Creed. I played it through and have to say it was stunning. Repetitive? Yes... Easy? Not if you try to get the achievement where you need to stealth kill every target. Overall it is a bit disappointing compared to the hype it had, but still worth checking.
and Guitar Hero3.. definitely worthy of your money :)

Of course PS3 might win if we WAIT. It is made to last 10 years (lol).
At that time Nintendo and MS has released their next consoles. So Sony can keep selling it's golden oldies and yes maybe some day in future when there is no more Wii nor 360 support PS3 indeed has sold the most.
The question is WHEN should the winner be announced. After 10 years?... or 100?.. or will archeologists judge it in distant future?
So you think all the reviewers are like some bloody gods that won't give unrealistic scores unless they are paid to do so?

Kids may wish what ever they want and they wish what they have heard of the most. Playstation brand has always been the most visible in adverts and success of PS2 is still affecting... but in the end it is us DADS who buy the gifts ;)
Therefore 360 will rule this Christmas.. just wait and see.

Mass Effect name is ugly and sounds lame. Game is too long and too good looking. It is not for PS3 which sucks big time. Biggest bug in this game is that it is made for 360!

What scares me the most, some great titles are reviewed by people who actually don't know sh!t about how the game should be played. Assassin's Creed is one good example.
So typical...every game announcement for PS3 is an event.
First people wait the game like any other game (yep loads of waiting for PS3). People are happy and yelling how cool it will be in PS3.
When the time comes to delay it, things start to happen... "it's ok, at least it will be nicely tweaked and made better than crap 360 version"
Then time passes some more and there's all kind of dev problems with the title and even possible that the title ...
to create another great FF game (there has not been good one in ages)
PS3 might be back on track in Japan and will gain more sales in other countries as well.
FF games are part of Playstation brand and is highly needed, especially now because PS3 has not been a great success so far.
Thing that scares me with this title is that it will just become another overly hyped crap like LAIR.

It is the god damn Playstation brand! The most praised console EVER. On par with 360 crapbox (as sony people say) is the most embarrassing thing ever. PS3 has officially failed it's first year. It should have sold twice the amount!
Poor Sony, PS3 will leave a bad scar.
Free games would of course be better, but 15 blu-ray movies gives you a lot more entertainment in total hours than all the PS3 games combined.
